MG Motor has officially discontinued the 1.3-litre turbo petrol variant of the Astor in India.
The decision comes as part of MG’s strategy to refresh the Astor lineup for 2025.
The 1.3L turbo engine produced 140hp and 220Nm, paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
This turbo-petrol mill was exclusively available in the top-spec Savvy Pro variant, priced at ₹18.07 lakh (ex-showroom).
Astor now comes with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 110hp and 144Nm, paired with a 5-speed MT or CVT.
New updates include a panoramic sunroof, a six-speaker sound system, and improved i-SMART 2.0 infotainment.
The base Sprint variant starts at ₹9.99 lakh, while the top-spec Savvy Pro with a CVT is priced at ₹17.45-₹17.55 lakh.
The key reason for discontinuation is believed to be low sales performance of the 1.3L turbo-petrol variant.
